BEN’S BLOG: ‘X Marks the spot!’
Today, I went to the South Bank, with well known pirate, of London betting-shops and dog-tracks, Jerry ‘Warfumstaw’ Croxford, and his two children Tommy and Georgie, to watch my very good friend, Long John Silver, who is appearing in Treasure Island (http://www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/shows/treasure-island) . And what an excellent show it was too, Blog!
I spoke with LJS afterwards, and contrary to popular belief: He did NOT die during any part of the island robbery, and would like me to confirm; that he is, in fact, alive and well, and now running a recently bailed out bank, in the City of London.
Blog, do you think, if myself and Jerry were stranded on a desert island, with a treasure map, that we would manage to find the gold? Hmm… DO YOU THINK WE MIGHT, JUST ABOUT, PUT OUR MINDS TO IT, AND FIND AN EDGE?
In other news:
A Treasure Map for The Punters: Head West from Marylebone. 93 miles. After two and a half hours, you will reach a town; Cheltenham. Find racecourse. Enter betting-ring by any means. When looking across a morass of bookmakers, you will see one. Front row. Third from left. Approach him. He will know who you are. Bring a big bag of cash. Tell him you want to have Β£5,000 on every favourite all week. Give him the cash. X MARKS THE SPOT.
Over and out, B x
