NEIL PHILLIPS (part 1 of 3)

Neil talks about his passion for horse racing from a very early age, creating his own horse races with toys, his unfulfilled ambition to emulate Peter O’Sullevan, getting some lucky breaks during his career path, the pressure of writing a tipping column, his own personal punting, the importance of the pre-parade ring. He elaborates on how he enjoys the challenge of tipping horses for the biggest meetings and how he deals with the pressure of advising people to back horses on a bookmaker’s website.

Neil talks about his association with some of the greats of the catering business, including Raymond Blanc and the Roux family but also the importance of quality simply starting with a coffee and sandwich on course.
