DAVY RUSSELL: Cheltenham Festival Friday
I was just so thrilled for Gordon and the team to get off the mark for the week in the Stayers Hurdle with Teahupoo (pictured below) writes DAVY RUSSELL.
Jack gave him a peach of a ride and he was so tough in what were testing conditions.
It can be a lonely place Cheltenham without getting a winner and the team deserved that.
The horses have looked fit and healthy and, to be fair, have all run well this week.
As for Brighterdaysahead, she just bumped into a very smart mare I’d say.
There was certainly no disgrace in that defeat.

The Skeltons are after having some Festival and both Grey Dawning and Protektorat was super.
Then to finish it off, Derek O’Connor was at his brilliant best on Inothewayurthinkin in the Kim Muir.
Listen, the man is an amateur only in name and gave the winner some cool ride for his second success of the week.
On to Gold Cup Day and with every drop of rain that falls, conditions looks set to be testing again.
That all plays to the strengths of the favourite Galopin Des Champ who will be hard to beat I’d say.
Anyway, I’m back home watching on TV ahead of the final night of Dancing With The Stars on Saturday.
Sadly, I’ve been knocked out but the finale promises to be a good craic.
Enjoy the final day and be lucky. My thoughts below …
