DAVY RUSSELL: Cheltenham Thursday

I flew home from Cheltenham so got back in time to watch another Wille Mullins masterclass writes DAVY RUSSELL.

It’s a real testament to the man that brought up 100 Cheltenham winners with a horse ridden by his son who wasn’t’ even born when the first one went in.

Ballyburn lived up to all the hype in the opener, but I’d say I was more impressed with Fact To File in the Brown Advisory.

Plenty had questioned whether he’d settle and see out the trip. Well, Willie was right and he did both with bells on.

Gordon’s continue to run well and the two ran great in the bumper just bumping into another good one from Closutton.

Anyway, Thursday is a big day for the team with the likes of Brighterdaysahead in the Mares Novice (4.10pm) and Teahupoo in the Stayers Hurdle (3.30pm).

They’ve plenty of other chance too with a couple in the Ryanair (2.50pm) included Conflated who has a chance too.

It’s always tough for a team like Gordon’s to keep going so close without a winner, but the horses are healthy and well.

Let’s hope Brighter Days Are Ahead!

My thoughts on Thursday action are below:
