Delighted to get on the Galway scoreboard this week with Rashaan who stayed on very bravely with the line just coming in time in the Grade 3 novice chase yesterday. The ground is very much riding soft, I know that might be hard to believe for many readers currently enjoying a heatwave but that’s the West coast of Ireland for you!
I’ve two planned rides today and I’ll be back tomorrow looking at Saturday’s rides.
TOP OF THE TOWN (7.55pm)
Slight worry about the ground for this fella as his best runs have generally been on good ground. He’s back chasing after a spell over hurdles and this is a really tough and wide open looking race. He was running well enough over the smaller obstacles but will need to bring his A game to the table tonight for this one.
ON THE GO AGAIN (8.25pm)
Just missed the cut for the Galway Hurdle yesterday but gets an easier chance here as possible compensation. Ran a good third on the flat in the Listed race in Down Royal and the Michael Mulvany stable are in good form with three winners from their last 12 runners including Premier League on the flat here at Galway this week. My fella seems versatile ground wise and I wouldn’t be worried about any more rain as he has won multiple times on heavy.
