The final day of Galway and I have two rides. It’s been a long week with a few near misses but can’t really complain with two winners as the racing gets more and more competitive here each year. I hope you’ve had a good week and I’ll be back later in the year as the jumps season starts getting into full swing again.
BYE BYE O BYE (2.45pm)
A grand old servant who at the age of 12 keeps on winning and is chasing a hat-trick !! I’ve been on him for his last two wins at Kilbeggan and Limerick but he’s paid the price with the handicapper and is now up a total of 12lb for those two wins. That makes life much harder in a race as competitive as this and where most of the principals are arriving on the back of winning runs.
LAKE TAKAPUNA (5.00pm)
Came back after a break to win at Roscommon over hurdles in May and is now back over fences after another break. Wears cheekpieces for the first time here. Hopefully he will run a big race but again it’s very competitive with dangers including Joseph’s (O’Brien) All The Answers who comes here on the back of an encouraging comeback run at Killarney.
