DAVY RUSSELL: Irish Grand National Monday
Happy Easter to you all. Only one race for me to look at Monday – the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse which is set to ride heavy as it’s never stopped raining writes DAVY RUSSELL.

It doesn’t look the strongest race to be fair and could well be a wide open renewal.
However I do like the look of Intense Raffles trained by Tom Gibney (pictured below).
He’s pretty lightly raced and loves it around here. He’s actually bidding for a course hat-trick here and is fully entitled to take the step-up in class after his 43 length romp the last day when he jumped well and made all.
Tom knows what it takes to win the big one – he won this in 2012 with Lion Na Bearnai.
He’d be top of my list but I would want to keep on the right side too of top weight Minella Crooner and Tony Martin’s Good Time Jonny who seems to love the challenge of these big field events.
Good Luck
Davy
