LOFTY’S BETTING NOTES

From the Star Sports pitch:

Decent crowd tonight, more of a buzz on the terrace and definitely more bet numbers, wasnโ€™t over keen to get the favourite Kildare in the opener but 2 x 4 figure bets meant I did and getting him beat got us off to a flyer.

I was far more keen to lay Ballymac Fairone in the 2nd heat and had been top price in the office all week. Alas I got this one wrong and the punters topped up on course too.

Signet Goofy was a decent winner . All the money for Romeo Magico (who drifted from Evs- 7/4) as was Singalong Sally in the next heat although far from being unsupported- a 9000/4000 on defending champion Thorn Falcon (who gave up his title with a tame effort) made it a winning race.

The next was a decent little heat with support for 5 of the 6 runners so Cape Cloud at 3/1 was a fair result – however in the following race which looked a match on paper I took decent bets for the front 2 in Lautaro and Signet Denver โ€ฆ however a large each way bet for the winner Savana Beau, took all the gloss off the evening.

Odds on fav and ante post fav Ballinabola Ed was bet at odds on a bet of 3k at 4/6 laid and although Global Vision was a nice winner in the last with decent support again here for 4 of the 5 runners,

It was a losing night, but enjoyable to see the business holding up (until it got cold again!).

We go again next Saturday
