Dumbo Jumbo takes wrong turning….

Doncaster v Yeovil

Championship
7.45pm, Sky Sports 1

PATHETIC

England’s batting was “pathetic” as they slumped to 136 all out on the second day of the opening Ashes Test, says Geoffrey Boycott. Having tipped them I couldn’t agree more.

Having now appeared to completely put the kybosh on England in the cricket I’m switching sports to football for the live game tonight at the Keepmoat between two sides struggling since being promoted.

Donny are doing better (just) in 21st whilst Yeovil are propping up the table in 24th and only have one away win to their name this season but are undefeated against Doncaster in the last eight meetings:

Feb 2013 League One Doncaster 1-1 Yeovil
Sep 2012 League One Yeovil 2-1 Doncaster
Mar 2008 League One Yeovil 2-1 Doncaster
Dec 2007 League One Doncaster 1-2 Yeovil
Apr 2007 League One Yeovil 1-0 Doncaster
Feb 2007 League One Doncaster 0-0 Yeovil
Apr 2006 League One Yeovil 3-0 Doncaster
Jan 2006 League One Doncaster 0-1 Yeovil
Mar 2004 League Div 3 Yeovil 0-1 Doncaster
Sep 2003 League Div 3 Doncaster 0-1 Yeovil

Striker Federico Macheda could start for Doncaster after re-signing on loan from Man U but boss Paul Dickov says several other players face fitness tests.

I’m leaning towards Donny – but every time I think of backing them a voice in my head cries out four letters D R A W.

When you struggle to find positives perhaps the draw is the call after all.

STAR FORECAST
(stake between 0.5 and 10 points)
5 points DRAW at around 9/4

JUMBO DUMBO

We’ve all taken a wrong turning and been misled by the satnav but how the hell do you land one of the biggest planes in the world at the wrong airport ?

A huge Boeing 747 Dreamlifter cargo plane landed at a tiny airport by mistake, the planemaker has admitted.

The aircraft came down safely at Colonel James Jabara Airport, about nine miles from McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita where it was supposed to land.

Boeing spokesman Marc Birtel says the Dreamlifter was bound for McConnell because it is adjacent to Spirit AeroSystems, a major supplier for the Dreamliner.

He did not say why or how the plane landed at the wrong airport.

But reports said the the Dreamlifter’s pilots could have confused it for McConnell.

Later, the aircraft safely took off from Colonel James Jabara Airport amid suggestions it could have been difficult as the Jabara runway is 3,000ft short of the length a 747 typically needs. The airport also does not have a control tower.

The air traffic conversation with the beleaguered pilots (below) was a treat…..
