#GreyhoundDerby2020 Kennel Visit: Liz and Rab McNair
KENNEL VISIT: King Sheeran is the shortest price Star Sports Derby entry from the McNair kennel. A semi-finalist at Nottingham last year, he has since won three category one competitions for the kennel; a home-bred dog that has made Liz and Rab incredibly proud.
Queen JessieJ most recently raced in the Monmore Gold Cup final where she found plenty of trouble. Prior to that she was unbeaten to the final. She’s in terrific form and has early pace that could be a real weapon at Nottingham. Rab tells us why he has always rated her so highly.
King Dylan is a dog we have come to know well, out of Eden The Kid and Skate On, he’s part of a prolific February 2017 litter. No stranger to big finals, this beautiful dog is phased by nothing. Rab tells us why he believes his temperament could prove to be a big advantage at Nottingham this year.
Queen Beyonce, a litter sister and kennelmate of King Dylan, took the Star Sports Derby by storm last year. She absolutely loved Nottingham and was unbeaten through to the semi-finals where she sadly sustained an injury which, the kennel thought would end her career. Now, after plenty of time off and a missed mating, Beyonce might surprise everyone and be on the comeback trail.
King Lennon is a proven fast dog for the McNairs. The Winter Derby runner-up will relish every meter of the tough 500m at Nottingham. He may need a little luck in running as he’s likely to be coming from off the pace but the ability is there and he is a big price.
King Axle is a kennel favourite. A big, strong dog who has been given some time off due to an injury, prior to which he looked top, top class. Rab tells us why he thinks he has the potential to go right to the top.
It’s no surprise that King Drake has an impressive turn of early given his breeding out of Skate On and Leamaneigh Turbo, but Rab would like to see him stay a little better. King Drake will head to the Produce Stakes at Swindon, his performances there will determine if he will be entered for the Star Sports Derby.
King Cash is the biggest priced dog of the McNair contenders for the Star Sports Derby but maybe he shouldn’t be…Rab tells us why.
King Bruno and Queen Lilly will be entered for the Produce Stakes at Swindon where Liz and Rab will learn a lot about how far forward these May 2018 youngsters are. Rab tells us how highly he rates Queen Lilly.
King Sam and King Louis are two more dogs in the kennel that Liz and Rab will very likely be entering in the Star Sports Derby. King Louis definitely gets the trip and has already won around Nottingham. King Sam is a younger dog who will monitored through the Produce Stakes to see how far he stays.
