Kennel Visit: TOM HEILBRON

Tom Heilbron is having his best year ever after a terrible end to 2021 which saw his kennel ripped apart by storm damage. Its been a rollercoaster but Tom now head to Towcester for the Star Sports Derby with a team of six and with one of two that he believes have a real chance and are flying a little under the radar.

Innfield Trojan

Just a baby being a June 2020 whelp, Trojan was a Puppy Derby semi-finalist where he went out after finding trouble, He’s already clocked 29.49sec in a trial at Towcester and with natural improvement given his age, Tim is excited about this one.

Darbys Delight

This is one of the dogs flying under the radar. He only came over from Ireland last month where he raced in absolute top-class company over four and six bends. He’s a serious dog but, that said, has been drawn in one of the toughest heats.

Freedom Sky

This dog has hit a real vein of form of late winning his last three at Newcastle and Sunderland. The first-round draw however has seen him come out with Skywalker Barry on his inside, a tough draw to overcome.

Freedom Alibi

A young exciting dog who has already achieved so much. The April 2020 whelp has the Northern Puppy Derby to his name already and also made the final of the Puppy Derby at Monmore. He’s been on his bed since the Juvenile but now his trials at Towcester are really starting to improve and he could be favourite for his first round heat.

Little Seven

This is a good A1/minor open racer who did manage to beat Darbys Delight in a trial at Newcastle recently so the kennel and owner have decided to let him take his chance. It’s what the Derby is all about…just having a runner is exciting.

Fatboyz Excile

Perhaps we haven’t seen the best of this dog yet but he does have a serious engine having won many opens, mostly over six bends, at a variety of tracks.
