GETTING IT WRONG IN STYLE
We couldn’t have got it more wrong with Musicora at Kempton last night. Funny the second you mention favourites that look vulnerable they seem to suddenly become fitted with a Yamaha outboard engine and scoot home.
Musicora did drift in the market and didn’t even go off favourite. Our selection Thatchit started favourite but could never get in a blow with the all the way winner Musicora who won by five lengths.
It’s the start of Newmarket’s July Meeting this afternoon. Panama hats at the ready and of course Pimm’s.
The manufacters recommendation for perfect Pimm’s is:
Mix 1 part Pimm’s No.1 with:
3 parts chilled lemonade
add some mint, cucumber, orange and strawberry.
And it’s time to try and get another favourite beat.
Sir John Hawkins looks too short in the July Stakes. It’s not a race that Aidan O’Brien has excelled at (only won once) and in terms of his Coventry third to 20/1 stable companion War Command that race was really all about the winner and how it stacks up as a formline for future races remains to be seen.
We’ve a whole host of potential improvers running for us including three unbeaten colts which combined will still produce a profit.
