Never that easy with England
England v Montenegro
World Cup Qualifier
8pm, ITV
ENGLAND PRICE ‘UNDER PRESSURE’ WILL THE TEAM BE ?
As reported in Starters Orders earlier today the England price to win tonight has been under pressure all day.
Trevor on the desk reported that Montenegro were friendless in the crucial World Cup Qualifier.
England are now around 1/3 which is a barmy price only justified by the injuries to the Montenegro team.
There’s only one point between them in Group H and Montenegro have held England to a draw on the three times they have met.
Montenegro are expected to be without captain Mirko Vucinic, goalkeeper Mladen Bozovic, centre-back Marko Basa and midfielder Miodrag Pekovic because of injury.
England need to win both matches at Wembley to guarantee World Cup qualification.
They must finish top of the group for automatic qualification for the 2014 finals in Brazil, while second place would mean a two-legged play-off in November.
HEAD TO HEAD RECORD
(Max last 10 only)
Mar 2013 World Cup Montenegro 1-1 England
Oct 2011 Euros Montenegro 2-2 England
Oct 2010 Euros England 0-0 Montenegro
It’s not often I get England games right but rather than the win market I will be looking at under 2.5 goals tonight on the basis England seldom get things done the easy way.
STAR FORECAST
(stake between 0.5 and 10 points)
6 points UNDER 2.5 goals at around 6/5
BRAND BECKHAM
Power couple David and Victoria Beckham have increased their combined business revenue to almost £100,000 a day, newly released documents have shown.
Papers lodged with Companies House show that Beckham Ventures Ltd, which handles Victoria’s fashion range, increased its turnover to £15.4m in 2012.
David Beckham’s football-focused business, Footwork Productions, grossed £16.5m on the back of endorsements and sponsorships.
A third company, Brand Beckham, grossed £3.2m, taking their combined turnover to £35.1m – more than £96,100 a day.
The growth of their business ventures shows the success of their ability to move on from being a football player and a pop star.
