Oh God, I mean, oh good, it’s Sunderland again
Sunderland v Stoke
Déjà vu? Remember last week? Villa v Sunderland and we fancied the draw – it ended 6-1. Well the Black Cats are back in town tonight.
More of that in a mo but we’re pleased to say the tipping has got better since Manic Monday.
This column edged a profit yesterday on the two Premier League games – and we very nearly got both but for Chelsea’s late spoiler. Still, the Merseyside bore draw was enough for a 3 point profit on the day.
And it would have been SIX winning days in a row but for Brentford’s last second penalty on Saturday (Editor: Stop going on about this match, please).
But we have another tipping gong to hand out. To our esteemed head of PR Luke ‘Lantern’ Tarr who put up 1000 Guineas winner Sky Lantern at 12/1 in our exclusive video previews.
Scroll to 6 min 6 seconds for the killer punchline……
In celebration of the great mans tipping feat – there was a spontaneous gathering in an unnamed field in deepest Sussex last night as his supporters, who had kept the faith for the 200 years of the race, set off sky lanterns in his honour.

Back to business…..
Sunderland need a win tonight even more than they needed the win last week as they sit hovering just two points over the drop zone.
Stoke are only 3 points ahead in the table, in 11th, but have already hit the magical ‘safety net’ of 40 points.
Every shred of evidence about this match says it will be under 2.5 goals.
Sunderland have only scored 18 goals at the Stadium Of Light all season, Stoke would be quite happy to go away with a point so don’t need to chase the game and the reverse fixture this season produced a 0-0 scoreline.
Paolo Di Canio’s honeymoon has started well, most notably with a 3-0 victory over hapless Newcastle at St James’ Park.
But despite ALL this – the trouble with unders is everyone is thinking the same way and you don’t get rich following the crowd.
As we saw last week – at the pressure pot stage of the season – weird things happen and Sunderland have a massive statement to make.
To that end, we are going to say there WILL BE GOALS and going to take on the stats and go over 2.5 goals.
Fed up with queuing at the Post Office? Simples. Buy your own.
The remote Scottish island of Tanera Mor is up for sale for £2.5m. The buyer will get 800 acres, nine homes – and a post office.
Estate agents CKD Galbraith are now handling the sale and described Tanera Mor as a “flourishing tourist enterprise and superb family residence”.
The island inspired the book Island Farm by Frank Fraser Darling who lived in Tanera Mor in the late 1930s and studied the habitat of its bird colonies.
Rumours that Luke Tarr has despatched funds via a sky lantern have yet to be confirmed.
