The polls close at 10pm and there’s a huge amount on the line for this year’s Local Elections!

Political parties all across Britain will be going head-to-head to win 4,411 council seats being contested, with elections in 144 out of England’s 333 councils, all seats in Scotland’s 32 local authorities, all seats in Wales’ 22 local authorities and the 90 members of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

This will be the first ballot box test for Boris Johnson since the partygate scandal exploded and the cost of living crisis took hold, whilst Keir Starmer and the Labour Party will be looking to take advantage of the Government’s issues, along with Ed Davey’s Liberal Democrats.

In Scotland Anas Sarawar will be hoping that Labour can leapfrog the Tories into second place behind the SNP, whilst this is a pivotal election for the future of Northern Ireland – as Sinn Féin look set for a majority.
