PRESS RELEASE: Ed Miliband favourite to be next Cabinet Minister to leave

Ed Miliband is the favourite with Star Sports to be the next Minister to leave Keir Starmer’s cabinet.

Miliband heads the betting at 2/1 with pressure mounting around his net-zero policy potentially clashing with Rachel Reeves’ budget.

Liz Kendall (4/1), Lisa Nandy (8/1) and Bridget Phillipson (8/1) make up the top four.

“Next month’s budget could see a shake up in the cabinet, and if Rachel Reeves chooses to raise taxes, Ed Miliband, our current 2/1 favourite to be next Minister to leave, could come under increased pressure.

“The political risk of a Miliband exit would be massive as he’s much loved by Labour, however, his net zero agenda has clashed with public sentiment around the rise of energy costs. The pressure could continue to mount and there’s the potential one of his key policies clashes with the budget.

“He’s a tentative favourite in what is an open market, with Liz Kendall our 4/1 second favourite after her move from the Department of Work and Pensions. Lisa Nandy and Bridget Phillipson make up the top four as a result of the internal turmoil.”
