Labour given 80% chance of retaining Holborn and St Pancras

Wednesday 2nd September 2026 – Labour are heavily odds-on with Star Sports to retain the Holborn and St Pancras seat, following Keir Starmer’s resignation as an MP.

Labour are 1/4 (an 80% implied chance) to win the Central London constituency by-election, ahead of the Green Party – who could have leader Zack Polanski running – at 3/1.

Reform (40/1), the Conservatives (100/1), Restore Britain (100/1) and the Liberal Democrats (200/1) are much bigger prices in the market.

Russell Bardon, a spokesperson for Star Sports, said: “With Keir Starmer announcing his resignation as an MP yesterday, plenty of parties will have their eyes on his Central London constituency of Holborn and St Pancras.

“In the early betting, we make Labour strong favourites to retain the seat at odds of 1/4, but they may have to repel a challenge from Green Party leader Zack Polanski, who could run in the by-election.

“At 3/1, the Greens look to be by far the biggest threat to Labour, with Reform way out at 40/1 and the Conservatives, Restore Britain and the Lib Dems all triple digit prices.”
