PRESS RELEASE: Star Sports set for £60,000 payout if Count Binface wins Clacton

A Count Binface victory in Thursday’s Clacton by-election would see Star Sports pay out in excess of £60,000.

Count Binface is currently a 40/1 chance to win the Essex seat, some way behind Reform leader Nigel Farage at 1/100.

The leading independent bookmaker currently has Count Binface at even-money to win 20% or more of the vote share, while it’s 3/1 that he wins 25% or more of all votes cast.

Russell Bardon, Head of Marketing at Star Sports, said: “With an influx of betting interest in this unorthodox by-election, punters could be counting their winnings at our expense if Count Binface pulls off a shock win in Clacton.

“Reform and Nigel Farage remain the clear 1/100 favourites to retain the seat, but Binface is the only other realistic challenger at 40/1, with the remaining candidates priced at 1000/1 or bigger.

“At even-money, Count Binface winning 20% or more of the Clacton vote appears to be far from a rubbish claim, and a surprise by-election victory in the face of an apparent Reform success would see us paying out in excess of £60,000 to Binface backers.”
