Labour 13/10 for 450-499 seats in tomorrow’s General Election

It seems that even some of Rishi Sunak’s most loyal cabinet allies, most notably Mel Stride, have lost faith in the Conservatives’ chances in tomorrow’s election with Labour shortest in the market to win 450-499 seats, according to Star Sports.

Labour have managed to maintain their 20-point lead in the polls over the last six weeks, and Stride has conceded that the Tories could be heading for an embarrassing defeat as Labour are given odds of just 13/10 to win between 450-499 seats.

The Tories on the other hand are shortest to pick up between 50-99 seats at 6/5, which could spell absolute disaster for Sunak’s party when the nation heads to the polls tomorrow. Stride, MP for Devon Central, has seen his constituency sway in the favour of Labour too, who are now odds-on at 4/9 to win it, with Stride out at 13/8 to retain his seat.

William Kedjanyi, Political Betting Analyst at Star Sports, said: “The big news coming from Westminster this morning is that of Conservative MP and cabinet member Mel Stride already conceding tomorrow’s General Election as Rishi Sunak’s party await an embarrassing defeat to the inevitable Labour landslide.

“Stride seems to have lost faith in his party’s chances as we approach the final 24 hours before the nation goes to the ballot box, claiming Labour’s surge will result in an overwhelming majority for Keir Starmer’s party, who we’ve got at odds of 13/10 to pick up between 450-499 seats tomorrow.

“The Conservatives’ chances for the same result is at 500/1, with a more likely outcome being a haul of between 50-99 seats at 6/5. Mel Stride’s current constituency, Devon Central, has also fallen victim to Labour in the market who’ve got a tight grip on the seat at 4/9, with Stride falling behind at 13/8.”
