PREVIEW: Doncaster 4.10
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Doncaster St Leger meeting is underway, Last Night Of The Proms on Saturday, clocks change on Sunday morning. You get the drift……. Autumn has arrived.
In the Park Hill Hospital Conditions Stakes at 4.10 the early money with Star Sports has been for Clon Brulee who represents last year’s winning stable of Saeed bin Suroor but I narrowly prefer the chances of the John Gosden trained Nabucco.
Nabucco already has winning form at Listed level – he justified odds-on favouritism when winning a Listed race over a similar trip of 1m 2f at Newmarket last November. He has contested two Listed and one Group race since and should find life in this company a little easier.
Clon Brulee came back from Meydan to compete in handicap company this season and was an easy winner of a class 2 handicap at Newmarket last month but on ground that was much softer than today. He ran another sound race last time out at Sandown when third to Treasure The Ridge but I just think Nabucco might be the classier horse.
It pretty much looks a match on paper but best of the rest might be Magic Hurricane who ran no sort of race at Goodwood last time but might be better on the easier conditions at Doncaster.
