Preview: ECUADOR v FRANCE
Delighted with the preview outcome last night – a DRAW landed in the England game at 3/1 on Star Sports.
I’m looking at the late game tonight between Ecuador v France – though to be honest I will be glad when the Group stage is over.
I simply hate having to keep in touch with two matches at the same time 🙁
These two teams have only met once before, in an international friendly in 2008 and it finished 2-0 to France.
Tonight’s match is at the Estadio do Maracana in Rio de Janeiro, kicking off at 9pm (LIVE BBC) and as usual there are a whole host of markets available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
The maths of Group E are such that Ecuador need the win to almost guarantee progression to the knock out phase, but that will depend on how the other match kicking off at the same time pans out. Switzerland and even Honduras can mathematically still qualify.
The French revival has been pretty spectacular after their disastrous campaign in South Africa four years ago. Their chances of even taking part in Brazil looked bleak after a 2-0 defeat by Ukraine in the first leg of their World Cup play-off. But they won the second leg 3-0 and the rest, so far, is history. A point tonight will be enough to see them through as group winners.
Ecuador have no reported injury concerns and could be unchanged from the side that beat Honduras.
My strongest view is that I expect there to be goals and am happy to take 4/6 for 2.5 or more.
