PREVIEW: Swansea v Liverpool

[dropcap]L[/dropcap]iverpool desperately need all three points at the Liberty Stadium tonight if they can still entertain the prospects of Champions League football next season.

Even a win would leave them two points off the top four after wins for Arsenal and Man U over the weekend consolidated their respective positions.

Liverpool come into this on a real streak of form – unbeaten in their last 12 league games with nine wins from their last 11 matches side but face a stubborn Swansea side who are more than capable of turning up the heat against supposed bigger rivals as recent wins over Southampton and Man U testify. Swansea also have a great record at home this season and have only lost on three occasions.

However, Swansea have only beaten Liverpool once in seven matches (D3, L3) since winning promotion to the Premier League in 2011.

Swansea’s striker Bafetimbi Gomis has been given the all-clear to play by specialists after his collapse at Tottenham whilst for Liverpool captain Steve Gerrard is fit again after missing seven games through a hamstring injury.
