Rule Britannia !
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Britannia Stadium hosts the visit of Liverpool this afternoon at 4.10pm and at around 1/2 it’s hard to summon up too much enthusiasm for Liverpool who have not won at Stoke in the league since November 1984 (D2, L3).
Stoke are proving a hard side to beat at home. They have lost only once at home in the league this season and have held Manchester City and Everton to draws as well as beating Chelsea which also suggests Liverpool are too short.

Stoke were 3-1 victors in the fixture at the Britannia last season and this season at Anfield could easily have finished 1-1 but for a last minute penalty save.
There’s mixed news on Liverpool’s star players. Striker Daniel Sturridge is set to return after seven weeks on the sidelines with an ankle sprain.
The England international returned to full training this week having not featured in a matchday squad since the Merseyside derby on November 23.
But centre-back Daniel Agger has been ruled out for three to four weeks with a calf strain.
Liverpool look far too short and I’m playing the DRAW on Star Sports.
