STAR DARTS PREVIEW: Premier League Darts โ Week Eight
We have another week of Premier League Darts to look forward to this week as the action heads to Berlin, writes EMILY WALLIS.
After a lively night in Dublin last week, the Premier League Darts heads to Berlin this evening, where the fight to make finals night at the O2 continues.
After this weekโs games, weโll officially be at the halfway stage of the league phase, so time will start to run out for the players to make sure theyโre in the top four.
As it stands, the top four are Jonny Clayton, Luke Littler, Gerwyn Price and Luke Humphries and it would be no surprise to see those four remain there given how well theyโre playing.
Jonny Clayton still tops the table despite not picking up any points in Dublin after losing to Humphries in the quarter-finals, but he wonโt be too disheartened and I think he can bounce back this week.
Luke Humphries picked up vital points to move into the top four and backed that up with a Euro Tour win at the weekend, beating Clayton in the final.
Last Thursday belonged to Luke Littler though, who picked up his second nightly win of the campaign in dramatic fashion, coming back from 5-0 down to beat Gerwyn Price 6-5.
Those were crucial points for both players and they now sit in strong positions heading into Berlin.
Gian van Veen missed last week due to illness but is back in Berlin and determined not to fall too far behind.

As always, there are some really interesting match-ups this week and with the halfway stage approaching, this could be a defining night.
๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ Jonny Clayton v Josh Rock ๐ฌ๐ง
Josh Rock continues to struggle in the Premier League and last week was another without a win or any points.
He didnโt even win a leg in a 6-0 defeat to Price and it now looks very unlikely he can make the top four.
Clayton, on the other hand, has thrived since returning to the Premier League and despite last weekโs defeat, this looks a great opportunity for him to get back on track.
I think he adds more points to his tally here.
๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ Luke Humphries v Michael van Gerwen ๐ณ๐ฑ
After a strong weekend, Humphries looks set to continue his form and push further up the table.
Now heโs in the top four, heโll want to avoid any late drama in qualifying.
Van Gerwen is still struggling for wins and despite going 5-3 up on Littler last week, he fell away again.
Humphries also beat him comfortably on the Euro Tour recently and that could play a part here.

๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ Luke Littler v Stephen Bunting ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ
Bunting needs to start putting together some consistent results as he sits seventh in the table.
He has shown he can win nights, but outside of that has struggled for consistency.
Littler is now hitting top gear and beat Bunting 6-3 in the same matchup last week.
Both played well that night, but I donโt see the result changing here.
๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ Gerwyn Price v Gian van Veen ๐ณ๐ฑ
Van Veen deserves credit for returning this week after illness but it may take him time to get back up to speed.
Price is in excellent form, consistently going deep in tournaments and sitting well in the Premier League standings.
I think he gets more points on the board tonight.
Looking at the draw, this could be a key night in shaping the table.
If results go as expected, the current top four could pull further clear of the chasing pack.
I think this could be another strong night for Jonny Clayton โ once he gets through his first game, heโs proving very difficult to beat.
