STAR FOOTBALL PREVIEW Fri: Hull v West Brom

On Friday night, Hull City will be looking to bring their four-match winless run to an end whilst West Brom will be hoping to build on their morale-boosting win over Middlesbrough when the two means meet in the Championship.

Hull have made steady improvement since the arrival of Liam Rosenior as manager, but their form has taken a dip in recent weeks; losing two and drawing two of their last four matches in the league.

Their last outing in the Championship was a dull and dour goalless draw to another side who look destined for mid-table obscurity in Preston North End.

The main remit, though, for Rosenior upon his appointment was to keep the club in the Championship after a chaotic start to the campaign and they are on course to achieve that comfortably – now as big as 16/1 for the drop with starsports.bet.

It was reported in the week that Tigers midfielder Xavi Simons, who has impressed in his loan spell from Chelsea, is set to make a permanent switch to the club. Simons is likely to start in the centre of the park for Hull on Friday night and could be one to watch.

West Brom had been on a tricky run of form, which had seen them win just one of their last five, but managed to end that run with an impressive victory over in-form Middlesbrough.

Two goals in the opening 10 minutes of the match from Daryl Dike secured a huge three points for the Baggies which kept them clinging onto the coattails of the top-six. However, Carlos Corberan and co will be fully aware that it doesn’t mean much if they are not able to build on it.

Defender Erik Pieters, formerly of Stoke City, picked up a slight knock which puts his involvement in this one in doubt, but Semi Ajayi should provide adequate cover in Pieters’ absence.

Neither of these sides have been in great form in recent weeks, but that superb win over Middlesbrough will have regained some much-needed momentum and confidence for the Baggies and I expect that to stand them in good stead on Friday night.

At 13/10, a West Brom win looks appealing with starsports.bet.
