STAR FOOTBALL PREVIEW Mon: Fulham v Tottenham
2023 has been a rocky time so far for Tottenham and they could be in for a difficult night at Craven Cottage against Fulham.
Results have gone Spurs’ way in the battle for a top-four space, with Newcastle drawing and Manchester United falling to defeat yesterday, but Conte’s men will have to improve on their recent showings if they’re going to take anything from an in-form Fulham side.
The hosts are just two points adrift of Spurs in the table and they are unlucky not to be level in the table, with Aleksandar Mitrovic’s converted penalty being correctly ruled out after the striker accidentally kicked the ball onto his standing foot, before Alexander Isak nodded home an 89th-minute winner for the Magpies.
Fulham – who have already beaten their points and goals tallies from the last top-flight campaign – had won five straight games in a row before their battling performance at Newcastle and appear overpriced in the match odds considering their recent form.
Aleksandar Mitrovic has led the way with 12 Premier League goals, but he’s ably backed up by Bobby Decordova-Reid and Willian whilst Joao Palhinha and Andreas Pereira have created plenty from midfield.

They should have no fear of facing a Spurs side that has conceded 21 goals in their last ten league games as Hugo Lloris has made costly errors whilst Eric Dier, Ben Davies and Clement Lenglet have struggled at various times this season.
Spurs managed to take a two-goal lead against Manchester City against the run of play but they collapsed when Julian Alvarez broke the deadlock there and without an improvement in defence, Spurs will struggle to break into the top four once again.
Going forward, Tottenham do pack a punch – especially with Dejan Kulusevski back in the fold to supply Harry Kane – but they look short at 11/10 for victory tonight. Only Newcastle and Manchester United have left Craven Cottage with three points this season and Spurs could have their work cut out to avoid another damaging result.
