STAR FOOTBALL PREVIEW Sat: Burnley v Everton

Sean Dyche returns to Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon as he looks to get one over on his old club Burnley and continue Everton’s fine run of form in the Premier League.

Burnley, themselves, looked to have turned a corner in recent weeks after a brutal start to their season after promotion last season and will be desperate to continue that as they look to escape the bottom-three.

Their thumping 5-0 win over Sheffield United, which ultimately cost Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom his job, instilled some confidence into the team and they managed to back that up with a positive point against Brighton last week.

The gap between themselves and safety still sits at five points, though, and so Vincent Kompany’s men need to keep on this positive track and a win over Everton would be just what the doctor ordered.

Since being deducted 10 points breaching the league’s ‘profitability and sustainability’ rules, Everton have clubbed together and gone on an impressive run of form.

In their most recent outing, the Toffees helped pile on the misery for struggling Chelsea with a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Abdoulaye Doucoure and young Lewis Dobbin.

That means, remarkably, considering that they have had 10 points docked, Everton are out of the relegation-zone and have a four-point cushion between themselves and 18th-placed Luton Town.

There will be great motivation for Everton to win on Saturday to try and increase that cushion even further, but I’m sure Sean Dyche in the back of his mind will be extra keen to get one over on the club that sacked him just over 18 months ago.

At 11/10 with, I like the look of an away win here as I expect Everton to be able to continue their good form. Also, considering the goal threat he has looked from midfield in recent weeks, Doucoure to score anytime looks appealing at 14/5.
