STAR FOOTBALL PREVIEW Sat: Liverpool v Everton

In the Saturday lunchtime kick-off, Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton lock horns at Anfield in what is sure to be a feisty start to the Premier League weekend.

Liverpool had made a strong start to their Premier League campaign following a disappointing season last time out, but are now without a win in their last two matches.

Of course, they suffered that controversial defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, and then followed that up with a 2-2 draw to Brighton with Lewis Dunk grabbing the late equaliser for the home side.

Liverpool will be keen to get back to winning ways on Saturday, not just for the bragging rights over their local rivals, but also seeing as – with City also faltering somewhat – the title race appears to be wide open at present and the Reds will not want to fall away from that.

Frustratingly for Klopp, he will be without Andrew Robertson for the foreseeable future after the Scottish left-back picked up a nasty shoulder injury on international duty which means deputy Konstantinos Tsimikas will have to step in.

It has been another tough start to the season for Everton, finding themselves just three points above the dreaded drop-zone, but did manage to pick up a useful victory in their last league outing.

Thanks to goals from James Garner, Jack Harrison and Abdoulaye Doucoure, the Toffees managed to see off fellow strugglers Bournemouth 3-0 and inject some much-needed positivity into Goodison Park.

It comes at the right time as well, obviously, just ahead of the Merseyside Derby but I still think it will be a tough ask for Everton to come away with anything from Anfield on Saturday.

A player who I can see having a big impact on Saturday is Mohamed Salah who knows this fixture well and has started this season in strong fashion with five goals and four assists already to his name. At 19/4 with, I actually like the look of Salah to score and assist in this one.

Also, derby matches tend to be a bit feisty – and plenty of cards have flown around in this fixture over the years – and I can see that theme continuing. Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite already has three yellow cards this season and can see him getting another card on Saturday, which you can back at 17/10 with
