STAR FOOTBALL PREVIEW Sat: Man City v Leicester

Manchester City and Leicester are having very different seasons and City can keep up their title charge with victory at the Etihad.

That statement won’t surprise you – City are just 1/8 with to pick up another three points here – and it’s hard to think of any other outcome against a Leicester side that’s 8/11 with to be relegated, having turned to former Villa manager Dean Smith to save their season.

His task is a daunting one; Leicester are winless in nine games, haven’t managed a clean sheet since November, and face champions Manchester City, Liverpool and Newcastle in their last eight games. Foxes fans will cling to the hope that Smith managed a similar turnaround at Aston Villa in 2019/20 – especially with the quality that Leicester have available to them in the shape of James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, Timothy Castagne and Youri Tielemans – but even a new manager bounce will struggle to see them match City.

The hosts – marginal favourites in their title fight with Arsenal at 8/11 – have won their last nine games in all competitions and have hit top gear with impressive wins against Liverpool (4-1), Southampton (4-1) and Bayern Munich (3-0) in the last fortnight.

Erling Haaland, who now has a barely believable 45 goals in 39 games for City, continues to break records for fun, Jack Grealish has found the best form of his City career, and both Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva shone against Bayern in midweek.

With a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League all but guaranteed and a semi-final in the FA Cup to come, this could be a spectacular season for City and all things considered, Dean Smith has been given a nightmare start in. his challenge to keep Leicester up.

Manchester City have managed to pass a two-goal handicap in their last five games and 8/11 with that they do so again is a fair price whilst the 19/10 that Jack Grealish scores again could also be worth taking. He’s scored in his last two Premier League games and is thriving in his new role under Pep Guardiola.
