STAR FOOTBALL PREVIEW Sat: Tottenham v Wolves

Tottenham have made a very promising start to the season, and that can continue with victory over Wolves tonight, writes WILLIAM KEDJANYI.

Bar their Europa League success, last season was a campaign to forget to Tottenham, but the addition of Thomas Frank from Brentford was the best addition of a strong transfer window and they currently sit second in the Premier League table behind Liverpool, with an opening Champions League success under their belt and a spot in the fourth round of the league cup booked with ease.

On paper, one could say Spurs have had a generous run of fixtures to begin the season, but they were deserving victors when beating Manchester City 2-0, gave PSG an excellent test when nearly landing the Super Cup to kick off their campaign, and have looked assured in the early stages of Thomas Frank’s reign.

All of which adds to a tall task for Wolves, who sit bottom of the table after losing five straight League games, with the club already in a relegation battle, a feeling not helped by the fact all three promoted sides have achieved results and a reasonable level of performance so far, including Leeds when they won 3-1 last week at Molineux.

Victory against Everton in the EFL Cup was much needed – this is Wolves worst start to a Premier League season – but the Toffees made plenty of changes for that midweek match on home soil and there’s a huge amount of responsibility on Jorgen Strand Larsen upfront after a difficult transfer window which saw the departures of Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Nelson Semedo.

Vitp Pereira performed brilliantly to save Wolves last season but he might have a bigger task than he can handle this time round and it’s very hard to see how things can be turned around and this might be a case of how many for Spurs.

4/7 on the hosts with starsports.bet, fair and could be considered generous given the gap between the two sides so far, and the -1 handicap is worth backing at 6/4. Wolves escaped Newcastle and Bournemouth with 1-0 defeats but they were lucky to do so on both occasions ,and Spurs could have too much firepower for them with Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, Richarlison and Lucas Bergvall all in form.
