STAR FOOTBALL PREVIEW Sun: England v Republic of Ireland
Lee Carsley takes charge of his final game as England interim boss on Sunday as the Three Lions take on the Republic of Ireland at Wembley Stadium, writes JOE CITRONE.
Carsley found redemption in England’s last outing, as just a matter of weeks after Greece beat them at Wembley, the Three Lions, were able to see off Ivan Jovanovic’s side by three goals to nil.
Now he will be looking to sign off in style from his role as England’s interim manager with another victory against the Republic of Ireland, the nation he represented 40 times as a player.
Harry Kane was surprisingly dropped for England’s win against Greece, with Ollie Watkins justifying that decision by scoring the opening goal just seven minutes into the encounter, but the Bayern Munich man is likely to be recalled into the starting line-up on Sunday.

⭐ STARSPORTS.BET MATCH MARKETS ⭐
After a 1-0 win against Finland, courtesy of a first-half strike from Evan Ferguson and a late penalty save from Caoimhin Kelleher, Ireland will be looking to back that up when they face England on Sunday night.
Ireland know where they will be finishing in their Nations League group, and therefore there is not much on the line in this one, but the Boys in Green won’t need much more motivation other than to end England’s long reign of dominance over them, which dates back to EURO 1988 when Ireland defeated the Three Lions in one of the shocks of the tournament.
It is hard to see that run of victories for England coming to an end this weekend, though, as long as England are able to perform to the best of their ability and don’t produce another performance reminiscent of that disappointing defeat to Greece last month.
I fancy an England win to nil here, which you can back at 3/4 with starsports.bet. Also, after being dropped for the last game, I expect Kane to come back firing in this match and like the look of him to score first at 5/2.
