STAR FOOTBALL PREVIEW Sun: Wolves v Sheffield United

Wolves host a bruised Sheffield United who travel to the Molineux after two 5-0 thrashings in their last three games, writes LEWIS WILLIAMS.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been a side that I’ve been on the wrong side of a few times this season and I’ve struggled to pin down their inconsistent identity.

Despite smashing Chelsea 4-2 at Stamford Bridge just three weeks ago, Gary O’Neil’s side were disappointingly beaten at home to Brentford before travelling to Spurs and once again claiming an unexpected three points on the road thanks to a brace from the Brazilian Joao Gomes.

Wolves have conceded the second least amount of goals in the bottom half which is likely to stack up perfectly against Wilder’s Sheffield United that have unsurprisingly scored the least and conceded the most in the Premier League.

The thigh injury that rules out Matheus Cunha is a tangible loss for Wolves fans but Pablo Sarabia stepped up to the plate with a great display against Spurs with an assist, and there’s no reason to doubt Wolves’ goalscoring ability with Pedro Neto who has clocked in two goals and two assists in his last five outings.

The home side’s attacking options are further bolstered by Hee-Chan Hwang who will play his second match since his return from international duty and he looks a certainty to boost his seasonal tally of 10.

⭐ WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS V SHEFFIELD UNITED STARSPORTS.BET MARKETS ⭐

Sheffield United’s woes are increasing day by day and there’s no reason to think life will get any easier.

The Blades trail the Premier League and face a mountain of 8 points away from the safe zone and with upcoming fixtures that include Arsenal and Manchester United, relegation is long odds-on.

Wilder’s side have somehow managed to lose four separate Premier League matches 5-0 this season and that’s not even mentioning the 8-0 scoreline that Newcastle walked away from Bramall Lane with.

Further bullets inflicted on Sheffield is the injury list that has slowly been mounting which has led to star forwards Archer and Diaz being doubtful to play a full 90 minutes in Sunday’s fixture which will surely further reduce their already mild goalscoring threat.

However, Sheffield fans will only have to cast their eye back two weeks to their last victory which was a surprising 3-1 scoreline away at Luton. Brazilian midfielder Vina Souza has been a shining light lately in a tunnel full of darkness alongside Gustavo Hamer in the midfield who seems to shore up the engine room running on fumes.

VERDICT
I’m predicting Wolves will take this tie in dominant fashion and pile even more pressure on Wilder’s Wolves who are bound for the Championship next season. I’m backing Wolves HT-FT at 6/5 with starsports.bet
