STAR FOOTBALL PREVIEW: Transfer Window Specials
After a record-breaking transfer window, there’s plenty to ponder for fans of many Premier League clubs, writes WILLIAM KEDJANYI.
The late sagas involving Liverpool, Newcastle and Crystal Palace will all live long in the memory but it was a big window for title-chasing Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Club World Cup Champions Chelsea too, considered title contenders by many.
The team at starsports.bet have made some cracking transfer specials – here’s my verdict on each of them!
🔴 Alexander Isak Top Premier League Scorer – Win Only (Dead Heat Rules Apply) – with starsports.bet
This is surely going to tempt a few, given that Isak was a clear second to Mo Salah last season and was a close third the season before that and now has even more firepower at his disposal. The case is obvious especially with the goals Liverpool score, although they could be shared around more with Salah still an ever-present fixture. It’s presumed that he will slot in as number 9 with Salah, Hugo Ekitite and Cody Gakpo will contest the wide attacking roles, but all are capable of scoring and he may not dominate the show in the same way he did on Tyneside. He also has to catch up with Erling Haaland, who already has three goals despite Manchester City losing twice, whilst if Viktor Gyokeres can make hay against sides like Liverpool, he could build a lead too.
🏴 Jack Grealish To Make The 2026 World Cup Squad – with starsports.bet
Everton have pulled off one of the moves of the window in taking Grealish on loan from Manchester City, providing both assists in the 2-0 win over Brighton last weekend, he followed it up with another man-of-the-match display in Everton’s 3-2 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
David Moyes summed up his impact when he said, “He is even better than I thought,” and whilst he hasn’t yet been called up by Thomas Tuchel, an extended run will surely put him in the spotlight if he avoids injury and Tuchel’s comments regarding both him and Trent Alexander-Arnold could be rather telling.
“There is no doubt that I’m a big fan of Trent and Jack because of their talent and not their personalities. They are big players.
“They will always be big players, and they will always be in the mix to be called up.”
“I know that both of them are desperate to come back, which is really important.
With Jack’s position given to Marcus Rashford the competition will be tough for him to get back, but he has the advantage of being the main man for a club that has made an encouraging start to the season.
⚽️ Yoane Wissa To Score 17 Or More Premier League Goals – with starsports.bet
Given his deadline day move in the last moments of the window – and swapping places more or less with Alexander Isak – Wissa has massive boots to fill at Newcastle but the data is positive about him (as would be expected for a player that Matthew Benham’s Brentford signed), with a superb 2024/25 campaign seeing him net 19 goals without any penalties. Wissa’s underlying stat of 0.57 expected goals was higher than Alexander Isak (0.56), Nicolas Jackson (0.5) and Mohamed Salah (0.49).
However, he will need a bit of time get upto speed – he hasn’t played a Premier League game this season, and there looks set to be some competition in the future from club-record signing Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart on a six-year contract – whilst Newcastle may not be as good domestically, with the Champions League group stage adding more games.

🔴 Bryan Mbeumo To Score 14 Or More Premier League Goals – with starsports.bet
Manchester United’s dire exit to Grimsby in the League Cup was a new low for them but in the Premier League they’ve looked OK so far, and this bet isn’t without interest. They didn’t deserve to lose to Arsenal on the opening weekend, were OK – even if a little underwhelming – against Fulham and were the entirely deserving winners against Burnley even if it took a last-gasp Bruno Fernandes penalty to do it.
Mbuemo scored his first league goal there – adding to one against Grimsby in his midweek fiasco – and should be able to thrive in a United setup that is attempting to attack even if the balance is not at the level Amorim would want. United were nowhere last year and yet their joint top scorers Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo managed eight league goals – 13 more is well within Mbuemo’s grasp.
🇸🇪 Super Swedes – Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres & Anthony Elanga To Score 50 Or More Premier League Goals Combined – with starsports.bet
Much depends on how quickly Viktor Gyokeres can improve against tougher defences on the road, and how much of a say Anthony Elanga gets at Newcastle. Elanga hasn’t scored in three games so far, and Newcastle have brought in two new forwards, so the percentage call is to swerve this offer, especially as Gyokeres still has something to prove, albeit it’s early days. Our football ambassador Alex Crook has more on Gyokeres and others below.
⚽️ Eberechi Eze To Score 12 Or More Premier League Goals – with starsports.bet
Eze’s importance to Arsenal has increased very quickly, with injuries to Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz early on this season, and if he clicks, then there’s the potential for him to step up into an important role early. However, the Gunners’ fixtures for the early part of the season are tricky enoug,h and Mikel Arteta’s approach to big away games will likely need to change for Arsenal to have the best shot of making a mark away from the Emirates this season.
🧤 Gianluigi Donnarumma To Keep 10 Or More Clean Sheets – with starsports.bet
Given the Italian’s remarkable shot-stopping ability, this will have plenty of takers, especially given that Ederson managed 10 clean sheets from just 26 games last season despite City’s troubles in winter. James Trafford came out of Sunday’s defeat to Brighton with credit but it’s hard to imagine Donnarumma, so integral to PSG’s Champions League success last season, taking a back seat. Have a punt on the 4/1 with starsports.bet.
🥅 Yoane Wissa To Outscore Alexander Isak – with starsports.bet
There wasn’t much between the two last season – four goals separated them at the end of the campaign – but Liverpool should be able to provide Isak with far more opportunity than Newcastle over the course of the season and it remains to be seen how the Magpies cope with managing Champions League football alongside the grind of the Premier League. 5/1 looks about right, with Wissa presumably going to be the main man although he may be short of creative support if Newcastle’s injuries from their clash with Liverpool don’t heal quickly.
