STAR FOOTBALL PREVIEW Tues: Man City v RB Leipzig

After being held to a frustrating draw by RB Leipzig in the first-leg last month, Manchester City will be hoping to produce a better performance on Tuesday night and take one step closer to realising their Champions League dream.

Manchester City left it late in their last Premier League outing against Crystal Palace, but managed to prevent Arsenal from increasing their lead at the top of the table at the weekend thanks to a 78th-minute penalty from Erling Haaland.

Their focus now must switch, though, to the Champions League; the trophy that, through all the success City have had over the last decade, still alludes them. They are 2/1 favourites with starsports.bet to finally get their hands on that trophy.

It looks as if Pep Guardiola will be able to pick from a fully-fit squad on Tuesday with Phil Foden, who had recently been sidelined, shrugging off an injury to play a part in that vital victory against Crystal Palace at the weekend.

RB Leipzig kept their feint hopes of catching Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table alive at the weekend with a comfortable 3-0 victory over manager Marco Rose’s former club Borussia Monchengladbach.

Second-half strikes from Timo Werner, Emil Forsberg and Josko Gvardiol were enough to see off Gladbach and keep the gap between Rose’s side and Bayern Munich at the summit of the Bundesliga to seven points.

They will be looking to use that momentum coming into this Champions League clash against the reigning Premier League champions, but it would be a shock to see them progress. Leipzig winning the tie is out at 4/1 with starsports.bet despite being level on aggregate at this stage.

Whilst City have a clean bill in health in terms of injuries, Leipzig are not so lucky with star man Christopher Nkunku expected to miss out through a hamstring problem.

City are red-hot going forwards, have a plethora of top-class forwards to pick from and have rarely found finding the back of the net to be an issue, but keeping the ball out of their own goal has often been a different story this season.

Guardiola has never quite been able to find the right formula in defence, often switching between personnel and systems in a quest to tighten up a bit at the back, but they are still vulnerable in that area. For those reasons, I think a City win and BTTS is quite appealing at 15/8 with starsports.bet.

I am also going to back an assist for Dominik Szoboszlai who has 13 assists to his name in all competitions this season and has been instrumental in the middle of the park for Leipzig.
