STAR GOLF PREVIEW: Arnold Palmer with BLUE HORSESHOE

The Arnold Palmer Invitational gets underway on Thursday from the Bay Hill Country Club, writes BLUE HORSESHOE.

Just like PGA National last week, this course is no bargain and is full of watery graves coming down the stretch, much like those that claimed Shane Lowry.

This course has always played into the precision players’ hands, but if you’re a bomber and can keep it straight, there are shots to be picked up, so that’s the way I’m leaning this week, because there’s some lovely value available in this invitational, limited numbers field.

Blue Horseshoe Loves:

Keith Mitchell  – currently at ? with starsports.bet

Cashmere Keith ran a place for us last week and I’m staying on him because he feels like he’s trending his way to a win. He plays well on this Florida swing. The cashmere’d one is due.

Cam Young – currently at ? with starsports.bet

Apparently, Cam spent the off-season working solidly on his putting, and from what I’ve seen so far this year, it’s working. He looks far more comfortable over long and short putts. His stroke and the pace of his roll looks far steadier.

Aldrich Potgieter – currently at ? with starsports.bet

The Big South African is a real talent. He’s already won on the PGA tour and finished an excellent fifth at a very demanding and star-studded Genesis Invitational at any old money. Keep an eye on this kid, he’s got a major or two in him.

Andrew Novak – currently at ?  with starsports.bet

Novak is a really excellent iron player and I think his price is an each way gift in this limited numbers field.
