STAR GOLF PREVIEW Thurs: ZOZO Championship

We are back in the land of the rising sun this week as the Narashino Country club holds it 5th edition of the Zozo Championship just outside the city of Tokyo, Japan.

The par 70, 7079 yard par 70 course is short by PGA Tour standards, but it has teeth and can punish any player severely if they get out of position. Its green complexes are particularly challenging, with many having false fronts and steep run off’s. In order to take out this title, chipping, scrambling and putting will all have to be top drawer.

I’ve gone for two really solid exponents of those skills in Cole and Svensson, and I’ve gone for a combination of course form, recent form and longer priced value with the other two.

⭐ STARSPORTS.BET ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP MARKETS (prices subject to fluctuation)

Blue Horseshoe Loves:

⛳ Eric Cole – Currently ? with

Cole went well for us past week to register a tied third place with a sparkling final round 62. I’m sticking with him again this week because he just keeps producing consistently high leaderboard finishes. Cole is going to notch that first win soon and I want to benefit when he does.

⛳ Beau Hossler – Currently ? with

Hossler was one those young guns with bags of ability, but he somewhat lost his way form-wise over the last season or two. An up-tick in performance of late has seen some much-improved results and he was quoted last week as saying that he has never felt better in his game. That was backed up last week with another strong performance which culminated in a tied 7th at the Shriners. Hossler played well at the Zozo last year with a 16th placing and I expect with his new found confidence in his game that he will go well again this week.

⛳ Adam Svensson – Currently ? with

I am growing more and more impressed by Svensson. The Canadian is a bit like Cole, he keeps featuring well at every tournament he enters, but the difference is Svennson has got that maiden PGA Tour win. In what is not a particularly deep field, I think he’s a great shout to take out the Zozo.

⛳ Lee Hodges – Currently ? with

Since his win a couple of months ago, Hodges has drifted back out price wise. He played well here last year finishing in tie for 16th. With a good experience at this course and in what is a fairly shallow field, I think the price on Hodges is soft. He looks really solid each way value to me at this price.
