STAR GOLF PREVIEW: US PGA Championship 2026 with BLUE HORSESHOE

Aronimink Golf Club, just outside Philadelphia, plays host to the second golf major of the year starting on Thursday, writes BLUE HORSESHOE.

It’s a Donald Ross-designed tester of a course. There are only two par fives and tons of tough spots to get up and down from.

In short, this course has a reputation for being hard, bloody, no really quite hard. But that doesn’t seem to worry these blokes. They make insanely hard look standard; they’re golfing freaks. The trick is to try and work out who’s currently playing well enough to put themselves into a position to win. The first thing first though is about getting through to the weekend.

As ever, I’ve looked for what I see as great value in relation to said current golfing form. If Nothing better than a nice hefty return from a little position. I am really quite keen on a couple of mine this week. They are the top two. Good luck, golf fans!

Blue Horseshoe Loves:

Daniel Hillier – currently ? at starsports.bet

‘Daniel is travelling tonight on a plane’ and that plane is taking off at Aronimink golf club on Thursday. Hillier is a recent winner of the New Zealand Open and has been on a red-hot run of form on the European tour. Hillier is ridiculous money! If this guy gets away well he has all the ability to stay with anyone in this field. He has pushed Rory very close on the European Tour this season on a couple of occasions. This might be one of the each way punts of the year.

David Puig – currently ? at starsports.bet

Puig has been a revelation over the last year. He won the Australian PGA in December and followed that with a bunch of top ten finishes. Puig looks to be a very special talent and I would not be at all surprised to see him feature here. A solid each way play.

Keith Mitchell – currently at ? with starsports.bet

I’ve had Cashmere a few times this season and he’s been around the tip of the leaderboards, but can’t seem to stay up there. I’m going to give him one more life here. Keith plays well at tough set up’s. This course is certainly that. If the cashmere’d one can get those irons flowing, he would represent excellent value.

Bernd Weisberger – currently at ? with starsports.bet

Bernd’s a multiple European Tour winner, but he’s not as young as he used to be, and he’s had those putting issues that older blokes seem to get. But lately he got one of those long stick set up’s Bhatia is using and it’s changed his game. Go on Berny son, just for old time’s sake, win one more at a price before heading to the senior tour.
