STAR PREVIEW: Barcelona v Leicester
[dropcap]I[/dropcap]t’s usually hard to summon up too much enthusiasm for friendlies but we have two interesting matches back to back tonight.
At 7pm it’s Barcelona v Leicester in the International Champions Cup (don’t ask) and then Man U taking on Everton at 8pm.
And if you’d rather wait for the ‘proper’ stuff. The good news is that it’s only 48 hours to the Championship opener Fulham v Newcastle at Craven Cottage on Friday. The Toon Army taking the first stages of a very long season – certainly will be long enough if you are contemplating them at around 15/8 to win the title.
How much we’ll learn about Leicester tonight is debatable – they have a date at Wembley on Sunday in the Community Shield against Man U but it’s certainly going to be a terrific experience for both fans and players for the match which is being played at the Friends Arena in Sweden and shown live on SKY.

HEAD TO HEAD RECORD
(Never played)
Leicester haven’t exactly shone pre-season – they were brushed aside 4-0 by PSG in California and only got past Celtic on penalties in this tournament. But then again, would you be happy backing Barcelona at long odds on either?
Claudio Ranieri is likely to continue to rotate his squad ahead of the Community Shield and the start of the season proper.
Record signing Ahmed Musa and Nampalys Mendy are still yet to play a full 90 minutes this pre-season but could play a big part against the Catalan giants.
Leicester have also announced today the signing of 19-year-old Poland international winger Bartosz Kapustka.
If there is a bet it might be over 3.5 goals at a shade of odds against with Star Sports. A small bet – but when Friday night arrives it will be full systems go for Fulham v Newcastle !!
