STAR PREVIEW: Bayern Munich v Sevilla
Tonight’s two remaining Champions League Quarter Final games have a very straight forward look about them but then again so did Barcelona’s qualification prospects at odds of 1/500 last night π
Assuming lightning doesn’t strike twice, in the same week at least, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid should both build upon their first leg leads which, in both cases, were achieved away from home.
Both are one-sided betting contests with Bayern Munich v Sevilla looking marginally the more interesting, given Bayern still have some work to do after their first leg 2-1 success in Spain.
The bad news for Sevilla is that Bayern Munich are unbeaten at home this season with the Allianz Arena proving a fortress.
The fortunes for both sides couldn’t have been more contrasting at the weekend. Bayern were crowned Bundesliga Champions after winning 4-1 at Augsburg whilst Sevilla were thumped 4-0 by Celta Vigo and have now won just one game from their last six across all competitions.
Bayern are bidding to reach a seventh European semi-final in just nine years and will once again to look to the scoring prowess of Robert Lewandowski who has scored 35 goals in 39 games this season. He is a boosted 5/2 to score first with starsports.bet.
Defender Jerome Boateng is likely to start after recovering from a bruised foot on Saturday.
Bayern’s manager Jupp Heynckes said: “We’re in a good mood, we’re hungry and our big goal is to reach the semi-finals.
“They have to take risks and score two goals in our stadium.”
