STAR PREVIEW: Blackburn v Liverpool

[dropcap]L[/dropcap]iverpool may well win their FA Cup replay tonight at Ewood Park but I struggle with the prices.

The match seems to have priced up on the basis the first leg was a 0-0 draw at Ewood Park rather than at Anfield.

With the replay on home soil, Blackburn might well again prove a tough nut for Liverpool to crack especially with the nerves beginning to creep in again on Merseyside.

Liverpool have seen their Champions League qualification hopes severely dented after successive defeats by Manchester United and Arsenal but Blackburn manager Gary Bowyer believes talk of a crisis is misplaced.

Bowyer said: “I think it’s ridiculous that after losing two games, the team that was hailed prior to those two games as being the best in the Premier League – which they were at the time with the football they were playing – then comes in for that.”

There are injury problems on both sides. Liverpool are without the suspended trio of Steven Gerrard, Martin Skrtel and Emre Can whilst Mario Balotelli is also out after he ruled himself out of the Reds’ 4-1 loss Arsenal on Saturday.

However Rovers also have a long injury list. They are without Jason Lowe, Shane Duffy and Chris Taylor.
