STAR PREVIEW: Brighton v Arsenal
[dropcap]C[/dropcap]an lightning strike twice – or even three times ?
Hands up how many thought that Cambridge – Man U finishing 0-0 would be the shock of the FA Cup weekend on Friday ?
After the seismic results yesterday which saw trap door exits for Chelsea, Man City and Tottenham it’s been dubbed as the FA Cup’s ‘greatest’ day. Great of course only if you backed them, otherwise, like me, you’ll be still scratching your head over the Sunday papers. And on a side note I wonder how high the viewing figures were for Match Of The Day last night ?
Can the carnage continue today as the holders Arsenal travel to the Amex Stadium in a repeat of the January 2013 clash, also in the FA Cup, when Arsenal won 3-2 thanks to a late Theo Walcott winner.
The Seagulls have a pretty good record when it comes to the FA Cup – they reached the final in 1983 but lost to Man U in a replay. They have also reached the fifth round in three of the last four seasons.
After yesterday’s results I’d need over evens to bet that today is Sunday but surely Arsenal should prove too strong for their Championship rivals?
Arsenal should be fully rested after their sensational defeat of 2-0 on Man City last Sunday and can continue the momentum here.
