STAR PREVIEW: Celtic v Hapoel Be’er Sheva
[dropcap]L[/dropcap]ittle bit better on the tipping front last night with the HT / FT bet obliging – despite the missed penalties !!!
More Champions League play-off action tonight with the BT cameras at Celtic Park for the first leg game between Celtic v Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
Not surprisingly, it’s the first time the two sides have met but on all evidence Celtic should be able to edge a first leg victory over their Israeli visitors.
Home advantage seems to be a massive advantage for Celtic who are now unbeaten in 13 competitive home games.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers said: “It may be difficult to break them down initially. With players behind the ball, they’re a very willing team, coached and organised well. We respect them and understand it will be a difficult game.”
He added: ”We’ll play with speed, but if we can’t go forward then it’s important that patience is with the team. The ideal scenario is you don’t concede and you win the game. It can’t be won tonight.”
This will be the Israeli sides 10th game in the space of a month which, coupled with the journey over, might be a fatigue factor to consider.
Hapoel are also without their injured captain and forward Elyaniv Barda.
