STAR PREVIEW: Chelsea v Stoke

[dropcap]G[/dropcap]ood result last night with the ‘both teams to score recommendation’ which was safely ticked off by half-time in the Derby v Watford game.

The Premier returns today and at 5.30pm Chelsea have the chance to pull clear on the turn for home when they welcome Stoke to Stamford Bridge.

I called Trevor Harris on the Star Sports trading desk at lunchtime to ask for the prices on this one – but before getting the price-I played a little game.

I guessed what the price was on Chelsea.

I said 2/9 and it was 2/7, so better than I thought.

There is a little moral to this story…. and that is TAKE A VIEW yourself. How many punters get the prices FIRST and THEN try and work out where the value is ???

If you don’t already – do it the other way round. Work out what prices you think a team/player/horse should be and then bet accordingly when you get the actual prices. It’s much more fun and puts the skill back into sports betting.

On the basis that I think Chelsea should be a 2/9 shot and I’m getting 2/7 that should probably be my bet for today but it’s a little skinny (even for me !!).

However, I can’t see anything other than a Chelsea win – Stoke have lost all six of their previous Premier League trips to Chelsea.
