STAR PREVIEW: Crystal Palace v Burnley

Both Crystal Palace and Burnley will have been very happy with the Premier League’s results over the weekend and the pair of them may end up sharing the spoils in tonight’s clash.

Palace and Burnley have 42 points from 31 games – putting them 14 points clear of sixteenth placed Watford – and have probably done enough to feel secure about avoiding the drop without any huge late scares in the season.

Both come into this fixture after heavy beatings from the league’s top two, Palace having lost 4-0 to Liverpool whilst Burnley went down 5-0 at Manchester City, but they are probably best rated on their wins since football restarted, with Palace having impressed with a slick beating of Bournemouth whilst Burnley ground out a vital win over Watford.

There doesn’t look to be a huge amount between the two sides, and both are similarly matched side with impressive defensive records – Palace’s 36 goals conceded is the sixth-best record in the division whilst Burnley’s tally of 45 is skewered by a couple of bad losses against top six sides – against bottom half sides they’ve let in just six goals on their travels. In a game where it’s tough to separate both teams, the 2/1 about the draw appeals.
