STAR PREVIEW: FC United of Manchester v Chesterfield

[dropcap]M[/dropcap]ake the most of FC United v Chesterfield tonight as there’s not much football to look forward to with the international action again gate-crashing the domestic action.

In fact, the next televised league game isn’t until Saturday and the League One game between Rochdale and Wigan.

Chesterfield are understandably a short price to win this, given they are on a good run of form in League One (winning three of their last four games) and face a FC United side who are finding life tough in the National League North, having won just twice in their last six home games and are currently on the back of a five-match losing streak.

FC manager Karl Marginson expects to have a fully fit squad to choose from as does Chesterfield’s manager Dean Saunders apart from the long-term injured Angel Martinez.

FC United can’t be dismissed lightly – apart from the ‘cup spirit’ and all that, more tangibly they beat Rochdale in 2010 at the same stage of the competition.

However, Chesterfield themselves went on a good cup run last season, making it to the fourth round.
