We return after a short break to racing from Gulfstream Park and Tampa Bay tonight, with the hope that from next week we’ll be able to watch racing from France, assuming that authorities allow meetings to take place there – there is already racing in Germany taking place at the time of writing, and with any luck we may begin to start the European season.

Our last selection Zapit was a disappointment given that her form continues to work out well – hopefully there’s a reason for her poor performance as she’d be of interest next time with a generous enough price.

The most interesting race tonight might well be the shortest – the Maiden Special Weight (6:35) where Wesley Ward’s Chasing Artie takes on Todd Pletcher’s Prisoner – but the standout horse from a betting point of view is Bardot, who was second on debut in a maiden claiming over the same course and distance as tonight’s 8.45. Todd Pletcher’s charge surely isn’t far away from winning a contest such as this and showed more than the rest of the field put together on her one start – even a repeat might be sufficient here and 8/11 looks fair on her going one better.
