STAR PREVIEW: Liverpool v Besiktas
[dropcap]Y[/dropcap]ou can be fairly certain that Liverpool won’t have things quite so easy at Anfield tonight as they did when Besiktas last visited.
That was in the Champions League in 2007 when Liverpool romped to an 8-0 win but there are good reasons to think that Besiktas will be much tougher rivals in 2015.
The Turkish side are managed by former West Ham and Everton defender Slaven Bilic and are current domestic league leaders.
They are unbeaten so far in the eternally long Europa League format, including a 1-0 home win against Spurs.
Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling faces a late fitness test having missed two games with a foot injury but captain Steven Gerrard (hamstring) and Lucas Leiva (thigh) are both out.
Liverpool have only suffered one loss in their last 16 games (across all competitions) and should make most of home advantage.
