STAR PREVIEW: Liverpool v FC Sion

[dropcap]E[/dropcap]uropa League action on Thursday night and I’m off to Anfield for Liverpool against the Swiss side Sion.

The trouble for punters is second guessing what sort of Liverpool turn up tonight, especially with the Merseyside derby on Sunday looming on the horizon.

It SHOULDN’T need a great Liverpool performance to see off Sion who were beaten by a ten-man side in their last league game.

Daniel Sturridge is being rested which is likely to give Divock Origi the chance to play up front.

Forwards Christian Benteke (hamstring) and Roberto Firmino (leg) are also missing from Brendan Rodgers’s side.

Skipper Jordan Henderson remains out until mid-November with his broken foot and defender Dejan Lovren is also out.

Rodgers said: “Our approach to this game is how it’s been in the competition – this is an opportunity for young players and an opportunity for players on the fringe of the team that aren’t getting so many games. But it’s also going to require players that have been playing. Ultimately for us the aim is to win the game.”
