STAR PREVIEW: Man City v Sevilla

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]t’s Champions League (Manchester edition) tonight with Man U facing a tricky looking away game in Russia at the hands of the in form CSKA Moscow and Man City looking, on paper, to have an easier task at the Etihad as they play Sevilla for the first time.

It’s also not such a bad beat for City that they face United at Old Trafford in the Manchester derby on Sunday with United having the long journey to recover from.

Sergio Aguero scored a hugely important winner against Monchengladbach but he will miss the match tonight (and Sunday) with a hamstring injury.

City are currently third in Group D, tied on points with Sevilla who were not firing on all cylinders at the start of La Liga but have now taken seven points from their last three games including a notable 2-1 win over Barcelona.

Pellegrini has described tonight’s game as “must-win” against a Sevilla side who are well adept in European competitions as they proved with their Europa League triumph last season.

HEAD TO HEAD RECORD
(Maximum 10 matches)

City are playing with renewed confidence and knocking in goals for fun – they have scored 11 goals in their last two Premier League games against Newcastle and Bournemouth to help them re-establish a two point lead at the top of the table.

I see no reason why that form momentum shouldn’t continue through to the Champions League and am backing them to be in front at both HT and FT at around 5/4 with Star Sports.

RECOMMENDED BETS (scale of 1-50 points)

BACK MAN CITY TO BE WINNING AT HT/FT for 10 points at 5/4 with Star Sports

RETURN SINCE START OF WORLD CUP: PROFIT 119.40 POINTS
