After salvaging a crucial point in their first match of the international break against Czech Republic, it really needs to be maximum points for Rob Page’s Wales when they face Estonia on Monday evening.
Things were looking bleak for Page’s men in their must-win crunch match when a comical own-goal from goalkeeper Danny Ward helped their Czech counterparts into the lead at the Eden Arena on Friday evening.
However, in the absence of star man Gareth Bale, Leeds United’s Daniel James stepped forward to grab a crucial equaliser to level the scores at 2-2. A win would have been better, but a point keeps Wales in the hunt for World Cup qualification.
Wales’ starting XI isn’t likely to change much with no new injury concerns to speak of, but Burnley full-back Connor Roberts may well have earned himself a start after his positive impact from the bench against Czech Republic last week.

Despite having a population of just over a million people, Estonia have proven themselves to be a tough nut to crack in this World Cup qualification process.
Wales were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by the Estonians back in September at the Cardiff City Stadium and boss Page will know that his players cannot afford to let complacency creep back into their game if they’re to secure the win they so desperately need on Monday night.
Estonia often opt for a fairly defensive five-at-the-back system and their gameplan is likely to be centered around how they can stop Wales and keep them out, just like they managed to do in Cardiff last month.
However, with so much at stake in this one for Wales, I do expect them to find a way through and break down that Estonia resistance. We’re backing the Dragons to win to nil on Monday night.
